How to Travel
Transport
Comfort and capacity and cost are the three parameters when it comes to selecting the right car for your trip. From Russian Vans to japanese mini-buses to modern 4x4 SUVs, it is about chosing the right vehicle for the right trip.
All our drivers are vetted, experienced professionals who know the roads and will safely take you from A to B.
Accommodation
Typically, when travelling Mongolia you'd stay in professionally run Ger camps. Those usually have a separate buidling for showers and toilets, as well as a restaurant building for the meals. Electricity is widely available, albeit not always 24/7. There are luxury camps with ensuite bathrooms as well as very basic family run camps with very limited sanitary facilities. Not all options are available everywhere, but we'll strike the right balance between comfort and adventure for you.
Your Guide
Travelling with a guide may be frowned upon by many travellers, and in many countries they may be right, though not in Mongolia.
Think of your guide as your Sherpa. Mongolia is large and empty, with a unique language and complex culture.
Your guide's responsibility is not only to act as a walking talking lonely planet, but to keep in mind the road ahead, and take care of you as well as the drivers.
And last but not least, they really want to make visitors to Mongolia fall in love with their country, just as we did.
Travel Pace
The pace is up to you. Follow the tried and proven tracks to see something new and amazing every day, or take it slower and peak around that corner, into the next valley or over the other hill. Even in high season, once you get just slightly off track, you'll see almost no other travellers around.
Also, the soul travels on foot, so adding a few off days at the right time will allow you to really process all you have seen and experienced.
